Affiliate Marketing Is Globalizing World Trade

Imagine a little geeky guy in an outback town in Australia who starts his own blog on the subject of his passion, let’s say stock cars. He write articles about them, gets his friends to write articles about them and he uploads every photo he can get hold of. Eventually a whole lot of similar hobby sites and blogs backlink to him. His blog is now 10 000 pages huge. He decides to monetize his site by adding AdSense and applying to the Amazon affiliate program. His site is neat, well-administered and appeals to a well-defined niche market. His application is accepted and he puts up a banner containing seminal books on stock cars as well as other Amazon products that will appeal to the blog’s visitors. In a month or two he is earning a couple hundred dollars a month in affiliate commissions. That’s global trade made virtual.
